Once we got the call from our loan officer that we were approved, I reached out to our sales rep to see if we're still on track for breaking ground next month and closing in May. I think she was out of the office today, so hopefully we'll hear from her tomorrow.
We also haven't had our meeting with Guardian yet. For those that have meet with Guardian, how soon after your initial meeting did you have to finalize your options? We're hoping to be able to have the meeting, but not finalize things until after we get our taxes done in the beginning of February.
Congratulations!!! I'm so happy to have another Ryan blog to follow! I can't get enough of them! We're building in Pittsburgh, too in the Cranberry/Mars area. Where are you building?
ReplyDeleteI don't know how each guardian rep is, but we actually just finalized all of our options about a month ago, once our house was already under construction. I think you'd be fine to wait until February. I do have a tip for you - if you are planning on getting the security system, I would "play the game a bit." When we told our rep we weren't interested in it, he said he'd give us 6 months for free. Just so you know you have some negotiating room.
I saw that you asked on India's blog how to list other peoples blogs on your page. I don't know if this is the only way to do it, but here's how I do it. When you go to someone else's blog, click "follow" which is usually on the right and sometimes the left side of the screen. Then when you are signed in to your blog, click the design tab. There should be a place on that design page that allows you to add a gadget. Add the "blog list" gadget. Once you have the gadget, click on the edit button under the "my blogs list" secion in your gadgets. From there you can can click the "add to list" tab. It should then let you add it by URL or from a list of blogs you follow. I hope that makes sense!
If you'd like to add me, I'm ourryanjourney.blogspot.com
I'm looking forward to following your journey.
Thanks KM!! :) Def listen to her because for some reason in MD we are able to roll our Guardian into our mortgage.. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks k m. We're building in Westmoreland County, other side of the world from where you are, lol. Also you hit it on the nail with the blog list. See my work, yay
ReplyDeleteDo you have a copy of the price list for Guardian? I would imagine the prices would be similar since we're both in Pittsburgh suburbs.
Thanks for the advice, we'll try that tactic in our meeting.
Great job on the blog list!
ReplyDeleteI may have the price list for guardian, I'll check when I go home. I do remember that the security system was $32/month and the extra phone/cable/data lines were $90 each.
